Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise Up at The O2 for its thrilling adventure and spectacular panoramic views of London. The safety measures and friendly guides are frequently highlighted, making the climb accessible and enjoyable even in challenging weather. Some note the physical aspect requires attention, but the reward at the summit is well worth it.

"We had a brilliant experience doing Up at The O2. Our host Martin was fantastic — he explained all the safety information clearly, both with the video and in person, and made sure everyone understood how to use the harness and equipment without it feeling complicated.

The staff were really welcoming from start to finish. They even provide coats if it’s cold or raining, which makes a big difference when the weather isn’t great. You’re able to use your phone when you reach the top, and they also take photos of you on the way up so you don’t miss capturing the moment.

Even though it was raining during our climb, it was still a great day — definitely a memorable experience and one I’d recommend to anyone visiting London. I’d happily do it again!"

"I went to Up at the 02 on 29 October 2025. It was something I have wanted to do for a long time, as I had a Red Letter day voucher given as a present.

When the day arrived, I felt nervous but excited to climb at Up at the 02.

The two ladies staff members were so friendly when l went to the Base Camp before the climb.

They showed me to a room where the Safety Briefing was and other people doing the climb came in the room. After we had watched a short video explaining the procedure, the Instructor Max introduced himself to us.

He was so enthusiastic and friendly and had a great sense of humour.

Even though it was raining, I felt safe with him instructing us all.

He was very knowledgeable and gave interesting facts about London and the 02 during the climb and I really enjoyed the experience.

After we had come back to the Base Camp, we were able to go to the Gift shop to look at the photos taken before and during the climb.

I would recommend this to anyone.

Thanks very much to Max for your kindness and help andall the staff at the 02.

"Up at The O2

Up at The O2 is marketed as a sky-high promenade—an elegant stroll above London with views to reward your curiosity. What it actually delivers is something far more physical, technical, and quietly confronting.

Expectation meets reality at the gear station. Before a single step upward, you’re zipped into protective jackets and oversized shoes, clipped into a full climbing harness, and given instructions that feel closer to an industrial safety briefing than a leisurely cultural experience. The climb itself demands constant attention: hand over hand, foot to foot, repeatedly sliding and re-clipping the safety grip across metal blocks threaded along a steel rope. The rhythm is precise, repetitive, and oddly absorbing.

The consequence of this design is that, for much of the ascent, you’re not looking outward at London—you’re looking inward, negotiating your balance, your grip, and the mechanics of not getting stuck. It’s a strange sensation: being suspended above one of the city’s most iconic venues, yet mentally elsewhere, focused on process rather than panorama.

And then—relief. At the summit, the tension releases. The views are genuinely wonderful, expansive and cinematic, reminding you why you came in the first place. Standing inside the globe at the top, there’s a brief, beautiful pause: photos are taken, breaths are caught, the city finally comes into focus. The descent on the opposite side feels gentler, almost contemplative by comparison.
Up at The O2 is not the serene, floaty experience it appears to promise—but perhaps that’s its quiet strength. It’s immersive, unexpected, and oddly memorable. Four stars for an attraction that surprises, challenges, and ultimately rewards—just not in the way you imagined."
