"The Tilbury Walk of Memories is a walkway connecting the pier to the land. It is the access walkway for the Gravesend/Tilbury Passenger Ferry which has regular crossing Monday to Saturday too and from Gravesend.
Along the walkway are many images of the immigrants who came to live in the UK in the 1950s and 1960s. Collectively, these people have become known as the Windrush Generation, named after the ship that brought many to the UK.
Not far from the walkway is Tilbury Fort - run by English Heritage. Access to the Fort is via a footpath along the wall that runs alongside the River Thames.This offers good views back across the river to Gravesend."
