Reviews Summary
The Line NEOM is a visionary megaproject under construction, aiming to redefine urban living with its linear, vertical, and sustainable design. While not yet open to the public, its ambitious scale and futuristic concept are generating significant global interest and discussion.
"Great walk which I did on a Sunday
All along the way there were guides at the art works to explain about the piece.
Very interesting
Started from Greenwich
Views from the cable car were great"

"Did the line walk with my parents and it was their favourite London day trip they’ve had. It’s a free art trail from Olympic park to North Greenwich (we did it in reverse), seeing maybe 20 different outdoor sculptures/pieces of art. Really well signposted and there’s a great app called Bloomberg connects that has audio guides and descriptions of each piece. I explored parts of London I’ve never been to before, got the cable car and finished with a delicious meal at Hackney Wick. A great day out if you pick a day with good weather! We started at 1 and got to Olympic park at 3:30, no stopping for a drink or food but plenty stops looking at the art. Did around 15k steps (I couldn’t find anything online of how long it was so hopefully helpful! Pretty accessible too)"

"Great walk along rivers and canals with art along the route. We downloaded the map from the website but sculptures do seem to change as this differed from the map we picked up on route and the one on the website.
Some of the works at the Stratford end are small and easy to miss and there are a couple of points where we couldn’t find a sign and took the wrong route.
We met a few of the line guides on route and everyone was very cheerful and helpful.
Limited refreshment opportunities until you get to Royal Victoria and the O2.
Recommend the DLR between Star Lane and Royal Victoria. The cable car is a great way to cross the river but long queues at the weekend."

The Vision of a Linear City
This ambitious project seeks to redefine urban living by eliminating traditional infrastructure like roads and cars, replacing them with an integrated, high-speed transit system running through the city's core. The mirrored facades are not just aesthetic; they are designed to reflect the environment, minimizing visual impact and potentially managing solar gain. The concept emphasizes a seamless integration of nature, technology, and human life, creating a sustainable and efficient metropolis.
However, the sheer scale and novelty of The Line have also drawn scrutiny. Experts and commentators have raised questions about its structural feasibility, logistical challenges, and the immense financial investment required. While NEOM continues to push forward with construction, the long-term realization of the full 170km vision remains a subject of ongoing discussion and development.
Construction and Development Updates
Recent reports have indicated a potential scaling back of the initial construction targets, with some media outlets suggesting a reduction in the scope of the first phase. NEOM, the developer, has acknowledged adjustments to the timeline and scale of certain elements, but maintains that construction is proceeding. The development includes plans for unique infrastructure like a hidden marina and a spectacular stadium integrated into the city's design.
Despite some media speculation about the project's future, NEOM emphasizes its commitment to Vision 2030 and the development of The Line. The ongoing construction is a testament to the project's momentum, even as the full realization of its grand vision will unfold over many years. Staying updated through official NEOM communications is key to understanding the project's evolving status.
