What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise The Thames Head Inn for its excellent food, generous portions, and friendly, attentive service. The location near the source of the Thames is a unique draw, offering a peaceful countryside experience. While the 'source' itself can be a trickle depending on rainfall, the overall atmosphere and hospitality make it a highly recommended destination.
"I asked at my Travelodge Hotel for a pub outside of Cirencester that did good food and great beer. The receptionist gave me a list of 20 places but recommended Thames Head and one other. Her recommendation was a sound one. I had Fillet steak medallions with Stilton and Mushroom in a port sauce. It came with new potatoes, carrots, swede and broccoli. I prefer a bit of salt in the cooking water, but my doctor will thank you! Broccoli was a little overcooked but hard to fault the rest. The bar staff were professional friendly and helpful. Very enjoyable and would visit again."

"Lovely pub. The food was brilliant. There was 7 of us and we all enjoyed our meals immensely, everything was piping hot, portion sizes plentiful and the service was great as well. Definitely recommend and will be returning"

"I had a fantastic visit to the Thames Head. The food and drinks were genuinely excellent, with the club sandwich standing out as a real highlight. It was fresh, generous and full of flavour. I took a seat on one of the benches outside and enjoyed the sunshine, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable.
Service was impressively quick without feeling rushed and every member of staff I interacted with was warm, friendly and attentive. The whole atmosphere was relaxed yet well run. Whether you are stopping by for a casual lunch or just a drink in the sun, I would highly recommend the Thames Head. I will definitely be returning"
