📍Acorn Bank, Temple Sowerby Another National Trust day ticked off the list. The perfect Autumn walk for little legs collecting leaves 🍁 The whole walk wasn’t pram friendly so we stuck to the part of the walk that was and it was just enough for our little man 🥰 #nationaltrust #acornbank #daysout #maternityleave

📍 Acorn Bank @nationaltrust Beautiful outing. A lot of the trail isn’t buggy friendly so would need to take a carrier. There was a lovely cafe on site and a second hand book shop. They had a coronation trail on the weekend before the coronation which we thoroughly enjoying finding all of the crowns on the trail. My girls favourite was of course finding all of the fairy houses on the trees o...

Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise Acorn Bank Cumbria for its beautiful, well-kept gardens and peaceful woodland walks, making it a wonderful place to spend a few hours. The historic watermill and charming bookshop are also frequently highlighted as enjoyable features. However, some guests have expressed disappointment with the limited food options at the on-site cafe, particularly regarding children's meals and dietary accommodations.

"Wonderful place to spend a few hours, lots of nice walks through the forest area and around the well kept grounds, plus a good tearoom and of course the nice book room where most of us come out with more than we went in with.
Definitely a place we would revisit.👍"

Clive Wheat

"An absolutely beautiful place, the gardens are truly spectacular and so calming. The greeting staff were lovely, great with our kids and the walk to the mill was very achievable.

The 3-star rating relates to the cafe. In the middle of the six weeks holidays they had no kids meals Mon-Thurs (despite them being advertised) and they had nothing gluten free except a ore-packaged rice cake. I cannot comprehend why an organisation as hit as NT who charge pretty hefty membership fees cannot standardise a basic menu that caters to basic dietary requirements - and to not accommodate kids also seems a bit ridiculous. Otherwise the cafe was very clean, and the toilets were accessible."

Rebecca Sandy

"Pleasant gardens and apple orchard. Not much inside the interior. Can walk down to the river and plenty of forest walks"
