"The only reason I gave this 4 stars is that there wasn't a lot else beside the station there, at least not from what I saw. The station itself is a quaint, period dressed station with lovely people running it and the little tea room inside an old railway carriage. From here you can go to either Buckfastleigh and see the Otters and Butterflies centre or to Totnes where there is a rare breeds visitor farm and petting zoo. Had a lovely day on the train and at the stations."

"I visited here with a few friends yesterday and for the most part the experience was enjoyable, until we were leaving the train at Staverton. We were all approached by the conductor Ernest on the train who told us very abruptly to move out of his way to allow him to access the door and that we have to wait until the train comes to a complete stop before making any form of attempt to getting up from a seat and making your way to a door to alight. This is not signed anywhere and there are no markings on the door to say which is to be used by staff and which can be used by passengers so how else are you meant to know what door you can use. Such a shame for one individual to ruin what would've been a nice day out with the potential of a returning customer but that's a privilege they have lost."
