The impressive tower climb and seasonal flower festivals are frequently highlighted as memorable experiences. While the interior is well-maintained, some find the graveyard could benefit from more upkeep.

"Grade I listed medieval Anglican church dating back to the 12th century, although the main 39.6m tower was built in 1461 when Tenterden was at its height of the wool trade (the tower is constructed from Bethersden Marble, a limestone that contains thousands of brightly coloured shells).

The church is dedicated to the prominent Anglo-Saxon saint, Saint Mildred, who was a 7th-century princess serving as the abbess of the nunnery at Minister-in-Thanet. The grounds include a graveyard and benches for quiet contemplation.

"Interesting historical church, with a tall tower, is well looked after inside, but the graveyard is a little unkempt.
I believe the tower was a navigation aid, when, 100s of years ago access to the sea was only a couple of miles away at Small Hythe."

Mick Pelling

"The flower festival was very good and had some lovely displays. The tower was open for anyone to go up the 132 steps if they had the energy and there was tea and cakes afterwards."
