"What a beautiful spot. We were fortunate enough to stay on a boat there during a recent visit for our son’s wedding and would highly recommend a visit there. Restaurants are plentiful and there is so much to see and do in the area. The staff around the marina are very friendly and helpful and we look forward to visiting the area again."

"I loved this place, beautiful stroll around and can imagine in fine weather this would be super busy.
It is difficult to imagine you are in London when exploring this marina.
Lots of eateries dotted around, highly recommend a visit as it's so close to Tower Bridge."
Melanie Hughes
"A secret and hidden location just opposite The Tower of London. I truly love this place. It feels like you are by the sea as the marina and surroundings give it the feel you are not in London at all.
If the hustle and bustle is getting too much in the big city, visit here and you won’t be disappointed. A great choice of places to eat and a lovely historic south facing pub that serves food and drink.
A truly wonderful secret part of London.
Highly recommended!"

A Glimpse into History
Despite its historical significance, the docks were eventually made redundant by larger, more modern facilities and closed to commercial traffic in 1968. The area has since been redeveloped into a vibrant residential and leisure complex, preserving its unique waterside character while integrating modern amenities.
Visitors can still feel the echoes of its past by observing the dock walls, the lock systems, and the overall layout, which harks back to its origins as a bustling hub of trade. The presence of visiting historical vessels, like the Nao Santa Maria replica, further enhances this connection to maritime heritage.
Culinary Delights by the Water
Popular choices include Fatto a Mano, known for its delicious pizzas and outdoor seating, making it a hit during summer. For those seeking traditional pub fare with a view, The Captain Kidd and The Prospect of Whitby are highly recommended by locals for their great outdoor spaces and historic charm.
Many establishments offer outdoor seating, allowing diners to soak in the picturesque marina views while enjoying their meals. This makes St Katharine Docks a fantastic spot for a relaxed lunch or an evening meal, whether you're a local or a tourist exploring the area.
Capturing Iconic London Moments
The marina itself is a visual treat, with a variety of boats docked, creating a dynamic and colorful scene. The juxtaposition of modern yachts against the historic dock architecture, with Tower Bridge often visible in the distance, offers numerous photographic opportunities.
Consider visiting during the 'golden hours' – early morning or late afternoon – for the most flattering light. Evenings can also be magical, with the lights of the city and the boats reflecting on the water, creating a romantic and atmospheric setting.
