Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise St Editha's Church for its stunning stained glass windows and rich history, with many highlighting the impressive tower climb and panoramic views. The church is described as a 'happening place' with an active congregation and welcoming volunteers. Some reviews mention crowded conditions during events or sales, and one noted a personal preference regarding the vicar's wife's appearance.

"One of The Thousand. Very friendly congregation and religious leader. Magnificent window but crowded with additional tat for sale when we went. Looked like a busy schedule and active congregation. Well done them."

"This was a really nice surprise. I had no knowledge of this church but was blown away both by the volunteer that gave me a tour and the church itself. Firstly if you like the pre raphalites or people influenced by them , then you will love this church . Glass by Morris, maddox brown , burne Jones, Henry holiday as well the none to shabby ordinary stained glass of william Wales. There are tombs , as well as history dripping from every fibre of this building. A must see"

"This is a really beautiful church, it survived the reformation and did a marvellous Palm Sunday service. They were all raving about the new coffee area which was good but not sure about digging up bones and spending a quarter of a mil on it and the bookshop but hey, none of my business. The vicar is a young man of 37 and there’s a “vicaress” with multi coloured hair which frankly, well anyway. I don’t, yeah, it’s just, Y’know. Put it this way, if I was in her position I’d want people talking about the power of my sermon not the colour of my hair but there we are.
The elderly parishioners think it’s terribly exciting and cool and the vicars wife has a nose ring and all this you know. So I guess it’s a forward thinking church. The new vicar is also high church I’ve heard.
The best bit was the choir I think.
The building is breathtaking and there’s all sorts to look at. It’s a happening place and we’ll worth a visit. The organ looks brill and there’s all sorts of rooms and stuff.
Check it out"
