"A place worth recommending. The people working here are exceptionally polite and do their work with incredible passion. Admission is free, but it's worth donating. I got there when it was closed and yet I was shown around the entire signal box. You can see a lot of interesting equipment used on the railway in the past, and even move the switches and set the semaphores."

"A great little gem of a signal box and gardens alongside the railway. The staff there are very friendly and will show you around the working signals that are in the garden. The highlight is a demonstration of signal working from the signal box from a very informative gentleman. Refreshments are mugs of tea and free biscuits and you can keep the mugs for a nominal fee. You can also watch the mainline trains from the garden or from the signal box. A big thankyou to all the staff and including the lady that sold me a DVD of past lines in Hertfordshire. Highly recommended for all ages even adults. Free entrance but do please give donations to the running of this amazing place in St Albans"
