"Stumbled across this place looking for somewhere to eat and what a find it was.
A proper old fashioned pub serving a fairly limited and some may say ( not me) basic menu but exceptionally well done.
I had the steak pie and my wife the cottage pie both with the option of chips and vegetables.
Both dishes were absolutely first class with both the minced beef and steak in the pie being really good quality.
The vegetables were nicely cooked ( not boiled to mush) and the portion size generous.
Clearly all fresh ingredients and everything prepared on site and piping hot.
Sticky toffee pudding and custard was equally of top quality and was actually " sticky" to eat and not some random sponge with toffee sauce poured over.
I had a pint of Doom bar perfectly kept and served and alcohol free beer is available.
The toilets passed inspection by my wife with flying colours ( no mean feat).
Very reasonably priced particularly for quality food and a friendly lady behind the bar.
Must also mention it is dog friendly and also have ashtrays outside for the lepers amongst us.
We will return.
