What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Schiehallion is widely praised as an accessible and rewarding Munro, perfect for beginners and offering stunning Highland views. Visitors appreciate its historical significance and well-maintained trail. While generally positive, some reviews mention occasional inconsistencies in food quality at the nearby hotel.
"We did not stay in this hotel, but next door in the Townhouse. We did eat and drink in the bar for 2 days and nights. Food was plentiful and tasty, with a good menu. I miss not having a cask ale, but I managed with Belhaven best. The staff were all very friendly and attentive"
Robert McNeill
"Only used the restaurant not the hotel.
The first time visiting a year ago was probably the best meal my family has ever had. We were extremely disappointed on a couple of things this time though.
Steak that was overcooked and a bit small.
Burger was just a pile of meat with no actual shape, never seen a burger like that. And the taste was really unpleasant. I definitely couldn’t have a burger from here again after that.
The wait time was around 40/45 minutes.
2 kids loved their food so not all bad & the staff were friendly.
But such a shame when we had fond memories to spend over £80 on food we didn’t like. I’m struggling to want to go and retry and hope it was just an off night."

"Visited for food on a quiet Friday afternoon. Lovely pub area and a warm welcome - including for our dog Dixie.
Delicious food - options for everyone, including me as a vegan. The VG options were real food too not FrankenBurgers with fake meat etc. I always forget to photograph the food but trust me, it was nice. I did take a photo of the cute mouse on my beer glass and can heartily recommend a pint of Schiehallion Lager to go with it."
