Simple wooden pews fill most of the inside space but there is an undeniable sense of peace filling the place. "Although the current building opened in 1933, this is the site of the first Church of St Patrick after he landed in Ireland in 432AD. Lovely little church and it was open when we visited. There are some ruins of a priory that was formerly on the site and I think the little stone building in the graveyard is an old monastic cell. As I am a veteran of exploring graveyards, thanks to my family tree research, I enjoyed having a look at the headstones in the older graveyard as many of them predate the current church building. Sadly many of the inscriptions are now faded or headstone broken. Very much worth stopping by and having a look, especially if you are interested in the St Patrick story and history."

The church was open we visited and we greatly appreciated this. I understand it is open daily.

The ancient graveyard is very interesting although many of the headstones are so old that they are impossible to read.
There is a lay-by outside the church which accommodates parking for three to four vehicles.
