"Unfortunately you can only see the outside, you can not get inside, looks beautiful, curious to visit the inside."
Anastasiia Venza
"Not open to the public so you can only walk past to look at it. An old battery fort built during Henry VIII's reign and a couple of later monarchs stayed here/rested for a while.
Whoever owns it clearly looks after it as it's very picturesque. I would like to see what its like inside but that's a privilege for those who are close to the owners I suppose."

A Royal Fortress on the Coast
The castle's proximity to the sea has also meant it has faced the elements. Parts of the original structure have been lost to erosion over time. In response to evolving threats, a Martello Tower was constructed nearby during the Victorian era to further bolster defenses against Napoleon. This layered history, from Tudor might to Victorian vigilance, makes Sandgate Castle a fascinating landmark.
Today, Sandgate Castle is a private residence, meaning its interior is not accessible to the public. However, its picturesque exterior and historical importance continue to draw visitors who appreciate its architectural charm and royal connections. It stands as a beautiful reminder of England's coastal heritage and the enduring presence of its historical fortifications.
