"Visiting Rude to take part in the Isle of Wright half marathon. Took Wrighline boat from Portsmouth Harbour which only takes 25 minutes. On disembarking at Rude you can either walk along the pier to the seafront or take a short train ride in a 3 carriage train. The train is rather quaint is like a 1950/60's London underground train. When you get to the end of the pier the train goes to other destinations in Rude or you can disembark and there is a bus station outside serving all the destination's in Ryde. Also the hovercraft crossing over to Portsmouth is nearby and only takes 10 to do crossing. However during busy periods it is best to book a seat since it only takes 85 passengers."
