What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors appreciate the unique blend of modern retail and natural beauty at Rushden Lakes and Nene Wetlands. The nature reserve is praised for its tranquil walking trails, wildlife spotting opportunities, and family-friendly features like carved animals and a play area. However, some find the retail development to be 'cheesy' and overwhelming, detracting from the natural feel.
"Nature in harmony with the modern.
The Nene Wetlands Nature Reserve can be find near the Rushden Lakes retail park. There is a lake that you can peddle a swan or if your feeling more energetic you can go out in a canoe, but if like me your looking for a more leisurely activity you can take a walk in the nature trail. It follows the lake around and children can have fun trying to find all the carved wooden animals. At the far side behind the new cinema complex is a small area with climbing frames, spiders, slides and a few other things.
This is a fun place to visit when dry, if wet take walking boots or wellington boots"
