Visitors rave about the absolutely amazing panoramic views across Stroud and the River Severn from Rodborough Common. While the fort itself is privately owned and not open to the public, the historic building is impressive from the outside. The common is a lovely area for walks, with plenty of benches, though caution is advised due to grazing cows.
"We followed the path round and came across the fort, but unfortunately, it's in private hands now and not open to the public. It's quite impressive from the bit we did see, so I'd love to go back again another time. The view over Stroud is amazing, and you can see The Severn and beyond"
Sarah Littleboy
"Absolutely amazing place. Stunning views across Stroud and Gloucestershire to the widening River Severn. Car parking is on the common and it is fairly flat walking across the top. There are plenty of benches to sit down too so that would aid anyone with limited walking ability. There are cows grazing on the common so caution necessary when driving and with dogs but they pretty much kept out of the way. The Fort is a lovely historic building. We couldn’t walk for too long because we were dodging the rain but will definitely be returning."

"Lovely area for walks and views, but the fort itself is not open to the public. It is privately owned. Not really much, you can see of the fort apart from the side when your walking round the trail."
