Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about Redbournbury Watermill as a charming countryside gem, praising its historic working mill and delicious artisan bakery. The volunteer-run nature and reasonable prices add to its appeal, though parking can be limited and popular items sell out fast.

"A very beautiful watermill nested in the countryside near St Alban's. We visited on Saturday early in the morning, just to make sure we will be able to buy different breads and pastries. The bakery has a separate stall outside and the products are so good. I tried and tested the white sourdough, the brownie, the pumpkin bread, and the corn bread. Had my eye on the chocolate muffin, but someone bought the last two before me. We visited the mill, and we purchased flour from the shop. A big thank you to the lady that served us and to Antonio from the bakery. We definitely will be back soon."

Claudia

"I was craving baked goods on this day and found this place on google maps! Upon my arrival, I was welcomed by a very friendly lady at the counter who was very enthusiastic about the mill and bakery. She was welcoming and talked me through all about the place! I then walked around the different floors of the mill and learnt a lot about how flour is made! There are descriptions everywhere to help understand how everything works. At the end, I bought a brownie and Eccles cake. Both taste amazing 😻 Highly recommend a visit!"

"Wow what a charming place. I stumbled upon it by chance when hiking from Hemel to St Albans. Very well preserved with a working water mill, open Saturday mornings and Sunday at some point. You can visit 4 floors of the mill and buy their bread, buns etc and even go on a baking course. There are toilets and limited parking, it can get busy with people coming to buy the products. Very nice staff."
