What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the RAF Hornchurch Heritage Centre for its informative exhibits and the exceptional passion of its volunteers, who bring history to life. The reasonable entry fees and affordable cafe add to its appeal, making it a highly recommended local gem. The main drawback is the cash-only policy for all transactions.
"What a great informative place. Especially being local could see how it was 80 years ago. Brian was a top man explaining lots & full of knowledge.
Only downside was cash only. We would have stayed longer & had tea & cake if it wasn’t cash only.
Still a great place."
Tony G
"A fascinating collection with oodles to see - I could envisage visiting a few more times without repeating something. 5 pound entry for adults and 15 for a family. Food and drinks in the cafe very reasonably priced (and I mean it). Jim and Tony were so passionate and knowledgeable about the subject and really helped to get the kids interested. I couldn't recommend it more. If you're from Hornchurch and the surrounding area you simply must visit!"
James Mansfield
"Very interesting museum with 10 areas of exhibits. The place is full of information about the airfield and the part it played in the wars. There's a fun exhibit on the film The Battle of Britain, a room presented as the officers' mess and another showing life in the 40s. Well worth a visit for all ages."
