Reviews Summary
Guests rave about the stunning restoration of these 600-year-old cottages, praising the luxurious modern interiors that beautifully complement the historic charm. The central Coventry location is a major draw for accessing attractions and amenities. However, some visitors note issues with steep stairs and occasional plumbing or electrical quirks, and the central location can lead to evening noise.
"Stayed here when our daughter got married at St Mary’s Guildhall. Perfect location but quite noisy in the evenings. Also very very steep stairs. The living area was quite small but there’s plenty of places to go for meals or spoons is literally next door for breakfast so we didn’t do any cooking. The big plus was the size of the second floor bedroom, it has a big open space with lots of light, perfect for the hair and makeup ladies to work their magic on us all. The only problem was the plumbing and electrics! Some of the taps are plumbed the wrong way around and some of the lights were a bit dodgy or didn’t work at all. This is definitely not a place to stay with kids or if you struggle with stairs"

"These cottages have just been fantastically restored by Coventry Heritage Trust. We had a superb stay at 6 Priory Row (also known as Lychgate Cottages). The building dates from 1415 but the interior presentation is bang up to date. Everything is really stylish and luxurious. We enjoyed the incredibly comfy bed with gorgeous duvet, in a very quiet, cosy and dark bedroom, thanks to the secondary glazing, the modern heating and the heavy curtains. One bedroom has a contemporary four poster bed and an en-suite shower room. The other is a double, with a bathroom and wc directly opposite. The central location is amazing - ideal for visiting Coventry Cathedral, the Herbert Gallery and Belgrade Theatre and for shops and local restaurants. There are views over the Priory Gardens, immediately next door, and towards the Cathedral, Holy Trinity Church and Broadgate. We ate out a couple of times but also self-catered (Sainsbury's is a 2 minute walk), as the property has a well-equipped kitchen and everything you need for a relaxing night in."

"600 year old cottages very nicely modernized. Some have very steep stairs - beware! - but we stayed in a very comfortable accessible ground floor unit"

Navigating the Cottages: Stairs and Accessibility
However, the Coventry Heritage Trust has made efforts to accommodate a wider range of visitors.
