Reviews Summary
Prestatyn Castle Motte is a unique historical site for those who appreciate obscure ruins and enjoy using their imagination. While there's little to see in terms of standing structures, the visible earthworks and surprisingly good views offer a glimpse into the past. Visitors should be prepared for an interpretive experience and mindful of the busy road access.
"Bit of a strange one to review and definitely only for those who like to go and search out the more obscure historical sites. That said, you can still clearly see the earthworks of the motto, which is quite small and not very high. It's a little overgrown but easy enough to get to. There is a stone in the middle, but this is a much later addition. Access is via a kissing gate just off the main coast road, so be mindful that it can be very busy when crossing"

"This must be one of the weirdest "castles" in Wales. There's virtually nothing to see. It's amazing to think that there was a real castle here in the past, and you can see traces of the walls from above, and stones buried in the ground. If you visit, bring along your imagination, and enjoy the views."
