Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise Postman's Park as a peaceful and moving sanctuary in the heart of London. The Memorial to Heroic Self-Sacrifice is frequently highlighted as a deeply touching and unique feature, offering poignant stories of everyday bravery. While some find it small, its tranquility and historical significance make it a highly recommended stop for a reflective experience.

"I popped into Postman’s Park near St Paul’s the other day, and it’s a little gem! Opened in 1880, this tiny park was built on old churchyards and feels like a proper peaceful escape in the heart of the City. The real star is the Memorial to Heroic Self-Sacrifice—rows of ceramic tiles from 1900 honoring everyday folk who died saving others, like kids pulling siblings from fires or blokes jumping into rivers for strangers. It’s humbling and makes you stop and think. The shady trees and benches add to the calm vibe, perfect for a quiet moment. If you’re near the cathedral and want a spot with heart and history, don’t miss this place!"

"This is a lovely quiet and secluded park just round the back of St. Paul’s Cathedral. This is my go to destination to have my lunch when I have a walk around London. It’s beautiful in the summer when the flowers have all bloomed and it’s a little oasis in the middle of the City of London. The other reason I first visited was to look at some of the plaques and tributes on display under the covered area of people who have done something very heroic. Some of the stories are truly amazing and heart breaking. It’s a nice place to take a small family for a picnic as there is plenty of grass to put a blanket down. I would highly recommend a visit. I’ll be going back in May 😊"
