What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Ocean Beach Pleasure Park for its classic, old-fashioned amusement park charm and free admission. It's a beloved spot for families and those seeking nostalgic fun, with highlights like the Break Dance ride and Quasar Laser Tag. However, some rides can be intensely spinning, leading to motion sickness for sensitive individuals, and weekends can be quite crowded.
"We have been here many times. Always when the sun is shining. It's a lovely spot. Old fashioned rides that most people can enjoy.
Having been on The Waltzers dozens of times I bribed my wife to go on with me. We are both over 50. My closing argument before we got on was 'no one is ever sick on The Waltzers'. How wrong i was! Due to very few people waiting to go on, the operator left the ride running for at least twice as long as normal. It spun and it spun, and it spun some more! We both just managed to keep our breakfast to ourselves. It took us several hours to get over it. Really.
Great fun though, and very memorable."

"Went on a Friday (after 5pm) to get rides at 50% off! Very worth it! As someone who suffers from motion sickness, the rides definitely aren’t for the weak. Do take caution and ride at your own risks as my soul left my body after just 2 rides.
I bought 115 credits for 100 pounds and shared it among 10 people. It was more than enough!"

Pack snacks and drinks, or explore the various food stalls for classic funfair treats to keep everyone fueled for a day of fun.

It's an excellent option for groups looking for a competitive and energetic activity, especially if the weather isn't cooperating. The indoor nature of both the arcades and Quasar makes them reliable entertainment options regardless of the season.

Planning Your Visit: Tips from the Community
For those seeking a more relaxed experience with shorter queues, visiting on a weekday afternoon is often recommended. This allows for more spontaneous ride choices and less waiting time. It's also worth noting that some rides, like the Waltzers, can run for extended periods due to lower demand, which can be a thrilling bonus or a challenge for those sensitive to motion sickness.
Financially, visitors suggest purchasing ride credits in bulk for arcades and games, as this can offer better value than buying individual tokens. Comfortable footwear is a must, as you'll be doing a lot of walking around the park. Finally, don't forget your phone or camera to capture the vibrant atmosphere and memorable moments of your visit.
