What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the unique and spectacular Millennium Walkway, offering breathtaking views of the Torrs Gorge and the River Goyt. The blend of natural beauty and industrial heritage is a major draw, with many enjoying the peaceful atmosphere and photo opportunities. However, parking and the accessibility of some paths for those with mobility issues are noted drawbacks.
"I had a lovely walk in New Mills and along the Millennium Walkway. The area is very green and peaceful, perfect for relaxing and enjoying nature. The walkway is easy to follow and gives great views of the river and the old mills. It’s a nice mix of nature and history. Everything felt calm and safe. I would definitely come back again!"

"The walk its self is lovely, well maintained but not so much that its fully paved.
It is a wild walk, it is not suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs.
The bridge itself is even, and easy to walk. The paths either side are bumpy, some parts cobbled, so parts thin, some parts wide.
It's an easy walk, close to town, and lots of interesting places nearby by. Lots of places to take photos and play in the river.
Parking however is an issue, don't even attempt the train car park. Its down a narrow 2 way road, there are no passing places, and only 1 cars width, that turns into a very rough steep road. Pot-holed is an understatement, this road is so rough you would expect to find it on a 4×4 adventure trail.
Try the Torr car park, unfortunately its down a side street that isn't well signposted, but its better, cheaper and more spacious than the train station car park."

"This is a really cool place to visit!
The view of the Gorge and waterfall is really scenic, the old mill opposite is awesome too.
It's very peaceful & has lots of great walking routes round about. Some of the walks down to it can be pretty steep but there are a few entrances around new mills town, so you can look around for the easiest.
I stop by here quite often 😀"
