What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Hellens Manor for its intriguing history, authentic, un-restored charm, and the friendliness of its volunteer staff. The gardens, particularly the Physic Garden, and the option for cream tea are frequently highlighted as enjoyable aspects. While the house tours are informative, some may find the manor's less-restored state less visually polished than other historic homes.
"Intriguing, mysterious and historic place. The house has not been overly restored which only adds to its charm. The staff are super friendly and helpful, most are volunteers by all accounts so bravo to them! Great ghost stories and history by lovely guide. Good value, cream tea and house tour cost me about £15 so will be going again. They host various events here too. Music and arts and exciting new masterpieces coming soon from London!"

"A fantastic Sunday afternoon out. It’s free entry and the place is tranquil and charming. Our favourite area was the Physic garden, so interesting! There are lovely woodland walks and a fab cafe servicing cream tea for 2 for £12.00. They also have a cider mill and you can buy their pressed apple juice bottled. Doggie friendly too. Highly recommend!"

"The gardens around the outside are lovely and well worth a walk around. Very interesting herb garden and some sculpture scattered around.
The tea room was lovely and well worth the cost. Coffee was great and came in a cafetière which meant much more than one cup. Cake was moist and the tasty."
