Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Teesdale Railway Path for its lovely, mostly flat terrain and beautiful countryside views, with the Cotherstone Viaduct being a highlight. However, many are disappointed by the significant amount of dog mess found on the path, which detracts from the otherwise pleasant experience. Finding the path can also be a minor challenge for some.

"This is a lovely walk, mostly flat, a couple of inclines but easily done. It's not that easy to find but we did with a bit of Googling. You can start at Middleton-in-Teesdale and walk the approx 4 miles to Romaldkirk, or from the picnic area in Mickleton. Romaldkirk is a very pretty village. We walked on a cloudy January day with previous wet days so it was very muddy in places. I have given 4 stars because of the fact people (disgusting people) leave dog mess around. It really shows how disrespectful some people are towards others. Other than that it's a great walk and I would do it again."

"We only walked along a mile of the walk. It was very muddy (time of year) and the signs to keep you on the path just stopped. It wasn't an issue as we just turned and returned to the car. Will probably come back to walk some more in the summer."

"Great walking route with some well maintained paths.
The viaduct on the way to Cotherstone is a must see."
