It was named for the way the cylinder sat on a "table" or frame, making it a space-efficient design particularly useful in workshops and small factories. "A very informative visit run by very informative and dedicated people. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit here and learnt a lot about not just local railway history, but the effort was made to educate me on some of my hometown's history that I was unaware of. Maud Railway Museum is well, well worth a visit, don't miss out!
Just a slight observation, I think the opening hours on Google perhaps require updating and made clearer on the new website. I do however find it unfair that other visitors have marked the museum down as a result of this. Especially considering this is a volunteer run centre on undoubtedly a minuscule budget.

Thank you again Maun Railway, I look forward to seeing you again."
