What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Margate Railway Station is generally seen as a convenient and well-located transport hub, praised for its proximity to the town center and Dreamland, as well as helpful staff. However, some visitors have encountered issues with ticket machine availability and pricing clarity, leading to frustration.
"Nice , big station
Had plenty of facilities here ( step free access , coffee shop , bus stops , taxi rank and a Premier Inn nearby ) . The location is very good with only a 10 min walk from the town and 2 min walk from Dreamland . The main ticket machines were closed so we had to go to the other ticket machines where we couldn't buy 2 adults + 1 child on one purchase . Tickets just to Broadstairs cost £12+"

"Just returned from margate from going to margate for a holiday i am a wheelchair user the security guards and the national rail staff were sympathetic to our situation but it wasn't in their hands as the tickets to return to London was for a later train as the man in the ticket office wanted to charge my carer £40 on top of the price of the original tickets that he paid for the kind lady wanted to put us on the earlier train but remembering the man in the ticket office coldhearted behaviour we had to wait for the time for our train when we got back to the train station at 5.30 pm the ticket office was closed and the man in the ticket office had gone if the weather was bad we would have been ill due to bad weather sympathetic clarification needs to be used as the man in the ticket office was money orinated and only thought of how much money he could have made national rail when he didn't need to charge £40 on top of our return to London and the ticket office was closed when we returned from waiting three hours and the man had gone home it wasn't me who had the conversation with the man to then find the ticket office closed and the man in the ticket office had home There need to be unified clarification from national rail regarding the price of train tickets as you pay for your tickets online to then get quoted £40 on top of the original online price and the hotel had to be vacated by 12 noon and you have to wait till the departure time of train according to the ticket so if you vacate the hotel for 12 noon you have to wait till 6.20 for your train as the man in the ticket office is cold hearted"
