"Superb and wonderful. Approach by car is down a charming single track cobbled surface. Small car park. Extensive ruins with fast flowing stream running straight through the middle. Utterly charming and idyllic. So glad we stopped."

"Lovely tranquil place. The water running through it makes it even more magical. The only downside is the pointless damage caused by people carving names and such in the stone at the old gatehouse. I mean really what is the point???"
Mark
"Would have been a 4 or even 5 star a while ago, but the nice little gift/information shop on site looks like it's shut down. No drinks, no toilets, no information, no help. I've paid money to join English heritage and now my nearest site is free for anyone to just stomp around. I'ts like English heritage have given up on it. It's a beautiful place that could be fantastic if only a bit of money was spent on it."
