"Lovely selection of fresh meat and eggs. Lunch special was good and had excellent menu for sandwiches. Lots of lovely products for the Pantry too
If you need a disc to park they have some in store (all the on road parking outside needs a disc with time you arrived marked as limit is 2 hours only on the high st and right now Sept 2025 the big carpark is shut for building works).
I made toad in the hole with the excellent Cumberland sausages and eggs.
The baked pies and sausage rolls were also fab."

"What a lovely place. We were out on a coach trip to Appleby and wandered round looking for something to eat and drink. The local pub Hare and Hounds recommended Low Howgill so we went in to find something for lunch. The staff were so friendly and my wife and I ordered lunch. I had a chicken madras, with wedges and raita ,and my wife Theresa had chicken and ham pie with mushy peas and gravy. We also bought a pork pie to take home. We sat outside and thoroughly enjoyed the food. This place was so welcoming and friendly and the food was lovely. A must try if you are in the vicinity, and by the way the pork pie was lovely, John and Theresa."

"Probably the best bacon I have had in 40yrs
As a 70 yr old retired chef, I am always a bit sceptical about bacon, and the water content.
This collar bacon., was supreme, both for texture and taste !!"
