What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Loughgall Country Park for its peaceful atmosphere and beautiful natural scenery, making it ideal for walks and enjoying nature. While the parking fee is noted, many appreciate the free parking option in the village. Some trails can be challenging, and occasional issues with dog fouling and litter are mentioned.
"Lovely quiet peaceful walk. Boards on walkway could do with updating."
Louise
"£2.80 to park your car, you can park up the village and dander down, I really can't see much about the village or the park,"
Debragh Kelly
"A very nice Country Park nestling around a lake and apple orchards.
There is a carpark with a small entrance fee, and toilets.
A coffee van is occasionally present between the carpark and childrens' playground.
Fishing is popular at the lake and there is an 18 hole golf course, a football pitch and two tennis courts within the park.
There are a number of waymarked walks. My personal favourite is the Bridle Path walk (3.5 miles / 5.91 kms) which is a walking route that takes in the woodland and also skirts the golf course in parts. There are a couple of steeps climbs if you walk in an anti-clockwise direction. Also, the route around the golf course is rough underfoot in parts but is tarmac elsewhere. Therefore, not all the walks are suitable for those with mobility issues.
As with most places, there is some dog fouling and littering. Likewise, many people have their dogs off their leads, which can be a nuisance.
Very occasionally horses are on this path, but in my experience, the riders are sensible and considerate of walkers.
If you have children or dogs be aware that tractors and other vehicles use the roads and paths around the park.
There are plenty of birds to be seen including Buzzards and, if lucky, a Great Spotted woodpecker.
I recommend this park as somewhere to visit if you are in the area."
