"Lilford Park (managed by Wigan council) is a varied attraction featuring a child’s playground, open fields great for dog walking and a disc golf course (review to follow shortly)
It is well kept, with appropriately placed bins, and a public toilet conveniently located centrally within the park (closed on our visit at 5:30 pm Friday). The car park is adequately sized but I can see it becoming overcrowded at peak times. There are well tended flowerbeds lining the paths, tastefully protected by a metal fence. Untended wildlife-friendly areas are also scattered abundantly which is of course important in urban parks. There are sculptures placed nicely around the park.
There is a range of in-park gym equipment near the children’s playground, suitable for a work out with distanced child supervision.
The children’s playground has a range of equipment, though I would say it’s tailored slightly towards rotating rides than traditional playground climbing frames and slides (though these are available). There is no zip line, which is admittedly not an expectation but a luxury.
I enjoy rotating rides so this park was well suited to myself and my friends."

"Lovely park, lovely grass areas. Football area to for the lads. It has disc golf around the park too and into the woods. Lovely paths and flowers around . Great for families as its fairly flat and definitely pram and bike friendly. Lovely local place which has public toilets too.. and also they have rock n stroll festival once a year which is amazing. Love going here with the kids its so good for picnics too and to take the dogs. Free parking too."
