Visitors find the Les Dawson Statue to be a lovely and fitting tribute to the much-loved comedian, set in a peaceful garden near St. Anne's pier. While the garden offers a serene atmosphere and a great picnic spot, some note that the surrounding shelters could be better maintained. Overall, it's a recommended stop for those who appreciate British comedy history and enjoy seaside strolls.
"Great tribute to a great comedian. Love the surroundings as well."

"A lovely tribute to a man who loved this town. Les Dawson might not be a household name anymore and comedy might have moved on from mother-in-law jokes but I'm sure that the memory of his sketches and talent still raises a smile and a guffaw or two around the UK.
The statue is in the lovely surroundings of a small garden which is a peaceful place to sit and enjoy or to picnic. There are some shelters with extra information about Dawson as well as other local celebrities, it's just a shame that they are clearly regularly used as urinals.
The gardens are located very close to the pier and main beach at St Annes and across the road from the shopping area. We walked from a bit further afield but there is free roadside parking near the statue and various pay-and-display car parks. There are also pay-to-use toilets nearby.
If you are in the area don't forget to take a photo with one of the big names from British comedy history. If you want more Dawson sites then the striking church where he married his second wife is a couple of miles up the prom and his grave is in the local cemetery. You can even visit his old house, although much changed from his time and it's a huge shame they the owners have had the blue plaque removed from the house."
