What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Lepe Beach is a beautiful shingle beach offering stunning Solent views and a popular spot for swimming and watersports. Visitors appreciate the peaceful atmosphere, coastal walks, and the convenience of the on-site cafe. However, some find the food expensive and the seabed rocky for easy water entry.
"This is a sandy beach, popular with sail boarders, swimmers, people out for a stroll. There's a cafe with a lovely view and it's often a welcome retreat on a windy day. I struggled to enter the water to swim, though. It was a rough day and I quickly realised that I would lose my crocks if I wore them into the water! The problem was that the sand doesn't extend into the sea! It was high tide,so I couldn't see all the rocks and sharp, uncomfortable floor. My entrance into the water was more of an ungainly stumble! What I hadn't noticed was the audience in the restaurant! Later, people were coming up to me to comment on my swimming on a rough day.
I can say that once I was afloat, it was lush! Soft, salty water buffeting me, making me laugh and ensuring I relax into it. Highly recommended to go at high tide. It's shallow for a long way out."

"Always a great destination to find peace between land and sea. A great view towards the Isle of Wight and with Lepe providing a great little cafe doing hot food and drinks this is a place for all weathers.
Lose a star for the car parking charges though."

"Superb morning by the beach.
Warm on shore breeze. Just as we were leaving loads of people turned up to kite surf, wind surf and blade surf (?). Very exciting to watch.
There was even a group swimming (brrrr).
On the cliff top was a sauna! With cold plunge pool. Best bit - the sauna had a one way window view overlooking the sea! So you would have loads to look at. 😍
(I think sauna is there F, S and S.)
We also found 3 secluded sheltered seating spots. (With delightful people to have a quick chat with)
What's not to love watching the big ships going into Southampton Docks and looking them up on the Southampton Docks App! Where have they come from/going to and what are they carrying!
Finally - great loo and easy to pay for parking."
