What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Leonardslee Lakes and Gardens for its stunning beauty, particularly its vibrant spring blooms and picturesque autumn foliage. The well-maintained woodland paths, peaceful lakes, and unique attractions like the Dolls House Exhibition and sculptures are frequently highlighted as enjoyable features. While generally family-friendly with good facilities, some find the on-site dining options a bit pricey.
"Visited on a whim, never having heard of the place before, but thoroughly enjoyed our day out. Despite visiting in November, the gardens were beautiful, and there were lots of interesting paths off the main routes to be explore. For added interest various sculptures (with prices!) are placed around the gardens, and there is a wallaby enclosure, although those didn't appear to be very effective, as we spotted dozens of wallabies in the "wild", too. There is also a dolls house museum, with brilliantly detailed scenes capturing a bygone past. We will definitely be back in the spring or summer to see the gardens in full bloom."

"Leonardslee Lakes & Gardens is a stunning place to visit, with its series of peaceful lakes, colourful plantings, and winding woodland paths. The gardens are beautifully maintained and offer a mix of open spaces, shaded walks, and sculptures, making it a lovely spot for both relaxing and exploring.
Facilities are good, with toilets located near the main entrance and café, and there’s a small play area for children. The grounds are hilly in parts, so not every area is easy to reach, but overall it’s family-friendly and well set up for visitors.
It’s worth noting that camping is not available here, as it’s a garden estate rather than a campsite. There are a couple of eating places on site, ranging from casual cafés to a fine-dining restaurant, though some visitors find the food pricey and limited at busy times. Still, as a day out, it offers beautiful scenery and a memorable garden experience."

"A really beautiful private park. The flowers are in full bloom in April and May, but bustle of people are there then too. There is a large children's playground. There are beautiful sculptures located all over and they are for sale. There is a small lake where a model boat club has events occasionally. There are two cafes and a huge gift shop. There is a doll house museum containing the most amazing miniatures from 1900."
