What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Kilmarnock Station is a functional transport hub, praised for its seamless train-bus interchange and staffed presence. However, visitors note a significant lack of amenities, including no toilets or shops, and some find the station a bit dated. Nearby attractions like a climbing centre offer added value.
"Not unpleasant but a bit run down. Building works going on to replace poor quality comparatively recent work. All the big industry names have gone, Johnny Walker etc"
Eric L Wisty
"Bus station train and station are very close and central making it very easy to switch between them for travel. there is also a brilliant climbing centre 'above adventure' in Kilmarnock which I would recommend stopping by"
Matthew Fraser
"I've normally always passed through Kilmarnock Station on my way to the bonny West Coast (save for the days workers are on strike, whereby the route goes to Glasgow Central Station) and ALWAYS find it to be a very well kept station. There's a touch of olde world about the place with platforms 1 & 2 ending and beginning, nestled side by side with platform 3 being the main through service. It's also a staffed station which is always a huge help."
