"Amazing day spent in this lovely and peaceful place! Although busy, the atmosphere was serene and it was lovely to see so many people enjoying the sunshine on picnic blankets or simply laying on the grass! Tranquil and very well maintained gardens, not huge but big enough for kids to burn some energy and for adults to enjoy! Very clean toilets, parking near by ( not so big, so a bit of a struggle, but you can olso park on road)! Pram friendly! Definitely will come back again!"

The Arts and Crafts Garden Design
The garden's layout features a variety of elements that define the Arts and Crafts movement. You'll find water features, including charming lily ponds, which add a sense of tranquility and reflection. Topiary is used to create structure and artistic forms, while herbaceous borders burst with color and texture throughout the growing season. The creation of these distinct 'rooms' allows for a journey of discovery as you move through the garden, with each area revealing new delights.
Insights from visitors highlight the garden's ability to feel both grand and intimate. The seven-acre expanse is large enough to offer a sense of exploration but small enough to feel manageable and personal. The attention to detail in maintaining these features, from the vibrant flower displays to the well-kept lawns, is consistently praised, making it a truly immersive experience.
Seasonal Splendor: From Snowdrops to Summer Blooms
As the seasons progress, the garden bursts into full bloom. The herbaceous borders become a riot of color, showcasing a diverse range of plants that attract pollinators and delight the eye. The arboretum provides a lush green backdrop, offering shade and a different kind of natural beauty. Even after a dry summer, the garden remains beautiful, a testament to its careful maintenance and plant selection.
Many visitors find the garden to be a place of peace and serenity, regardless of the season. Even on a wet afternoon, the beauty of the garden can be enjoyed, sometimes with the delightful company of local wildlife, like a duck enjoying the puddles. The changing displays ensure that a return visit at a different time of year offers a fresh perspective and new wonders to discover.
