Hertford College is lauded for its incredibly central location, fostering a friendly and tight-knit community. Visitors and students alike praise its welcoming atmosphere, helpful staff, and the iconic Bridge of Sighs. While academic support is strong, some may find the college's historical focus more suited to humanities.
"Hertford is an amazing college: tight-knit community, cozy spaces and the most central location in the town. Also, all the staff is so friendly and helpful."

"The Bridge of Sighs is very iconic!"

"Humble, patient, caring, friendly college. Studied there for a year and dream of someday returning. Hertford’s location is a HUGE plus— Catte St. has the benefit of being right next to the Bodelian library as well as the Radcliffe Camera. However, as a Hertford student, you get exclusive access to cross the “Bridge of Sighs” (a privilege only extended to us Hertford students), and then you can exit up towards a local pub & very popular meeting place for students, The King’s Arms. It’s as central to Oxford as possible. Potentially the most central college.
Students and faculty are down to earth, supportive, welcoming, diverse, and wildly intelligent. You’re more likely to find humanities students over at Hertford, but they are incredible about helping you find what best suits you and they will make sure to find you the best possible tutor.
Best experience of my life. I miss it every single day."
