What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors describe Greenlee Lough as a lovely, peaceful, and picturesque spot, perfect for enjoying nature and spotting wildlife, including rare sightings like ospreys. However, access can be challenging due to closed paths, making it sometimes best viewed from a distance.
"In the middle of nowhere , lovely , peaceful and picturesque , seen some nice birds , later on was privileged to see a great flying display by an Osprey , a great day out"
Paul Banson
"Should be able to access Greenlee Lough by parking in a permissive car park at Gibbs Hill NY748692. If you follow the walk on the Northumberland National Park website it takes you up the road and then suggests crossing the field on the left near a finger sign. The finger sign is no longer there and there is a sign on the gate that states it is private property and the permissive way is closed. There is no suggested way to access Greenlee Lough this way. Greenlee Lough can be seen from Hadrians Wall. It looks good from a distance."
Lynn Higgins
"Beautiful Lough with an array of wildlife to see. Super quiet spot in the hide for taking a lovely break."
