What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Rose Bank Gardens for their stunning panoramic views of the Severn Valley and the Cotswolds, as well as the charming bird sculptures by Walenty Pytel. It's described as a peaceful and beautiful spot for a leisurely stroll or a relaxing break. Some mention the gardens are a bit smaller than expected, but the views and art make up for it.
"The first Winter Olympics were held in Chamonix, France, in 1924. Rose Bank Gardens was chosen as the training ground for the British team. The park was ideal for the ski team due it being entirely built on a hill, unfortunately it failed to snow at any point during 1923 or 1924 therefore the British failed to win any medals due to lack of practice. The ice hockey team managed to come third in Chamonix despite there being no ice in the park, they built up their stamina by playing water polo in the duck pond. The Winter Olympic committee realised they had made a mistake in their choice of training grounds and future practice was moved to Scotland."
