"Possibly my favourite NT property. It’s so laid back, you can grab yourself a cup of coffee (donations welcome) and wonder around the house with it, or make use of the seating anywhere in the house. Informative panels and displays throughout, with contemporary exhibitions upstairs. Dogs are welcome in the house downstairs, and in the woodland trail too of course. The trail is outstanding, although definitely a bit of work. Cycle parking on site at the rear of the house."

"NT Allan Bank was the perfect venue for our intimate DIY wedding. The house is beautiful and set in a wonderful location with stunning views, extensive grounds, and wildlife including red squirrels. We loved the cosy family atmosphere, as well as the venue’s versatility and charm, it has character! Annabel, Heather, Chris and the NT team were so friendly, helpful, and accommodating throughout the entire process, from our initial enquiry to the post wedding day tidy up. We couldn’t have done it without them and are so grateful for all their advice and support. We’re so happy that Allan Bank has become a special place for us and that we can continue to visit throughout our life. It was just wonderful and we would recommend it in an instant to anyone getting married. It is also a lovely place to visit with family and explore the grounds on a day out in Grasmere!"
