"We stayed at Dee Valley over a long weekend while we attended a wedding.
A gorgeous cottage with incredible views and all the facilities you could possibly need.

"I recently booked Dee Valley Cottages for a one-night stay. The booking process was really simple and I got my confirmation straight away. I received clear instructions from the owners on how to locate the property. I managed to find the location with ease and the check-in process was a breeze. My cottage Swallows was simply stunning. The location is absolutely beautiful with amazing views and an extremely peaceful setting. Plenty of free parking onsite alongside a well looked after lawn. The property itself was really well appointed and it had all the amenities one could expect and then some more. Home cinema system, TV, Radio, nicely stocked kitchen, Google Nest Thermostat, working fireplace, large size bath and toilet, plenty of towels, comfortable bed and clean linen, it had it all! There was even a dedicated reading/chill out area with a nice selection of books - very thoughtful and appreciated! The cottage was very clean overall and master bedroom was nicely decorated and had a warm and inviting feel to it. It was a LOT better than I could have imagined and I was very pleasantly surprised. Simon and Katharine were excellent hosts and I got some tips from both of them for my trip.
Overall I had a really memorable stay and would recommend Dee Valley Cottages to anyone looking for a comfortable, relaxing and peaceful stay in Llangollen."

"We've just come back from a wonderful weekend at Dee Valley Cottages. There are so many wonderful things to say about the venue and the lovely couple that run it! We arrived just after 4pm. We were greeted in person (who does that anymore these days??!) and the welcome was friendly and genuine. The cottage (called Swallows) was neat and tidy (well cleaned), the cottage bright, light-filled and cosy, the bed linen of good quality and the view from the master bedroom every bit as spectacular as in the photos. But it doesn't stop there. We were met with a small welcome package on the kitchen table (a few small treats local to the area), the bathroom had a ready supply of the miniature bottles of shower gel, shampoo and body lotion (unusual outside of hotels and b&bs), and for fellow caffeine addicts, wait for it..... Nespresso pods in the kitchen. There are a few board games in the cupboard under the telly, all the cooking utensils you need to prepare meals at the cottage, a brilliant info pack on local walks, local restaurants and their menus (incl. takeaways) and plenty of tourist brochures under the coffee table on local sites and activities. After ALL of that, there are the surroundings. We've come in summer, with warm weather and short nights. We heard the sheep calling out to each other every morning and evening. Sitting on our little deck, we looked at rolling hills and forests, were delighted by frequent visits to the bird feeder by woodpeckers, two cheeky squirrels and, if we were up early, wild rabbits in the garden... For our fellow city workers and residents, it was the blissful escape to nature we all yearn for. You know, the kind inhabited with not very many people, lots of animals but with the luxury of comfortable, warm accommodation and excellent coffee on tap. I can't recommend this place highly enough."
