The affordable parking and the charming riverside cafe, complete with excellent birdwatching opportunities, are major draws. "Big parking area beside the cafe, can pay by Ringo or contactless, no cash necessary. Several large gravel sections with no bays marked out. The cafe has a wall display about the park and several notices about birds etc. The cafe has several tables with seating for four, along the windows and beside the info wall. There is a very active bird table outside with various finches, tits and even a nuthatch visiting. Keeps you entertained. Usual range of coffees and lovely individual cakes, tray bakes and big cakes sliced up. We enjoyed the bride cake, never having seen it before. We were there on a Friday afternoon in October when the leaves are turning, colourful."

"Large cheap carpark, visitor center is next to the fast flowing river, with seating inside and out... Toilets and cafe inside the centre... A Lovely walk which took us high up into the surrounding areas, for a great view over the whole woods and over to loch trool... Only spoiled by rain and fog in the distance, as we got to the high points...We took the blue trail, over the wooden bridges as it wound it's way through the forest, our dog ran/paddled free off the lead, once away from carpark etc... Bike tracks and hiking trails cross over so be sure to stick to your chosen route... We ended up coming back down the blue bike track via a route called the curly wurly... Worth the trip out, great views, friendly staff and quiet..."
