"Visited here after my trip on Churnet Valley Railway on 13th August 2025. Was a lovely hidden gem, incl Hettys Tea Shop which was closed, but was lovely to see this little area of natural beauty. I did some videos on my Youtube - @karlsmith25 to."

"A lovely area for a walk and Hetty’s tea room is great. Free parking too. We did the red walk but the route is very poorly marked out and is very difficult (impossible) to follow."

"I'll tell ya what pal this place is a hidden gem 💎 a thing of beauty, created by man kind back in the year dot!
It's got a cracking free car park if you can find a spot and hettys tea room is also located here for that little treat or afternoon tea. If you are looking at coming though pal I'd ring ahead and book a table as the place was rammed today and they make an absolute arm and leg profit.......but it's a lovely location!
There's also a canal boat goes from here on Wednesdays and weekends that does fish and chips whilst on board. Sounds lovely but yet to give that one a bash.
Today we opted for a lovely 2.5 mile stroll following the canal to consall where we dived in the ode black lion public house for a swift one. Then turned round and returned to ode hettys.
The flora and fauna is spectacular along this route and we managed to spot lots of roach, chub and even a jack pike about 12 inches basking itself in the sunshine.
Till next time froghall wharf, ribbert you little flogger 👏"
