What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Fleetwood Marsh Nature Park for its peaceful atmosphere, scenic estuary views, and unique landscape featuring old fishing trawler hulks. It's a haven for birdwatchers and dog walkers. However, some find the presence of biting flies near the coast off-putting, and the rough paths require sturdy footwear. A few note issues with dog owners not cleaning up after their pets.
"We called here by default, as we had intended to go into Cleveleys. As soon as we got out of the car we were covered in horrid black sticky flies. Swarms everywhere. It was so bad we got back in the car and travelled in-land to the Nature reserve.
What a find only a few cars so lovely and quiet. We had a lovely walk round and had a chat to a local man walking his dog who told us about a local chippy to try later.
If I lived in that area I would definitely use the reserve as part of my daily walk/run.
There was also a lovely housing estate just facing which looked very well kept.
There was a model flying club too but we didn’t get a chance to see them in action.
Definitely worth a visit. Take a packed lunch/picnic and just sit."

"A wonderful place for nature lovers, especially bird watchers and photographers. I recently visited and photographed sparrows, a dunnock, tufted ducks, and a reed bunting. The reserve sits near the River Wyre estuary, with scenic views across to Knott End. The salt marshes provide a rich habitat, and the hulks of old fishing trawlers add a unique, atmospheric touch to the landscape.
On lucky days, you might spot swallows darting through the air—though capturing them in flight is quite the challenge! The paths can be a bit rough in places, so sturdy footwear is recommended. A great spot for dog walkers, bird watchers, or even a bit of fishing. Plus, Fleetwood town and all its amenities are just a short distance away. Well worth a visit!"

"Beautiful and peaceful area. Large open green fields and open areas - this seems to attract a lot of dog walkers!! Although there are many signs about where dogs should be on and off leads, and fines if owners don’t pick up after them.
Most disregard it and allow there pets to leave their mess!! This is very sad as it ruins this place."
