"Just returned from the most charming train journey in Wales and had to share! The scenery throughout the ride was breathtaking, easily the best train journey I’ve ever taken. 😍 Before boarding toward Porthmadog, we explored the village and surrounding countryside on foot — such beautiful walks and definitely the better way around. I can’t wait to go back and see more of the area. A perfect little day trip full of charm and views!"

"Took the train to Portmadhog with my mother in law and her wheelchair bound partner. To say the staff were helpful is an understatement, they excelled in first class customer service; firstly we were late for the journey as we got lost (thanks google maps), we called the station and they said we hadnt to worry and that we could ride on the next ride out. The guards on the train were amazing and helped us to get on and off the train safely. The people who work this route are volunteers and there was a lovely guard who was very helpful and was telling us the history of the areas on route to Portmadhog. Such a lovely man, in fact all the staff were lovely.
The journey itself is steeped with beautiful views (we were lucky enough to get beautiful weather too), and being on a steam train makes it so enjoyable and takes you back to times gone by.
Well worth the money and such a good route.
I think the volunteers all need to know how amazing they are and that they made the journey even more enjoyable with their knowledge and helpfulness. Great team and a great journey."
