What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Fairfield Recreation Ground is a beloved local green space, praised for its open fields, free outdoor gym equipment, and dog-friendly atmosphere. Visitors appreciate the convenience and regular community events. However, the lack of public toilets and a desire for more seating and floral displays are noted drawbacks.
"Fairfield Park is a lovely open, green space for locals, which I enjoy having within 5 min walk from home! Popular with dog-walkers (plenty of bins & very rare to see any dog poop!), and locals wanting to enjoy a bit of green space! There are about 15 benches seating wise and some new stone chess tables & seats installed. There's a few exercise machines & equipment (free) in the park, and you'll often see plenty of walkers & runners doing laps round the park, as well as small exercise classes, cricket & football here too. Very popular spot when the sun's out, plenty of grass (regarly mowed!) to sit/lay & chill on, a good amount of shady spots which are commonly used by families or those with children.
The downfalls of Fairfield in my opinion, is the lack of public toilets here or nearby (Kingston Council need to look into opening certain times of the day or at weekends during Spring & Summer for example please!) The park also needs more benches/ seating & is crying out for some flowers!!! I also think they should have some children's playground equipment - like some spring rockers, a slide & a small roundabout (like Winery Lane's tiny playground!), rather than adding more exercise equipment!"
