Visitors praise Explorers' Garden for its diverse, well-maintained plant collections from around the world, linked to fascinating stories of Scottish explorers. The peaceful atmosphere, red squirrel sightings, and ample seating are frequently highlighted as positives. Some note that certain hilly areas with steps may pose challenges for those with mobility issues.

"A very interesting and varied display of plants and trees from all over the world that were discovered by Scottish horticultural explorers hence the name, we were there in mid Aug and possibly missed the best of the plants so have planned to go back in May , lots of display boards and info sheets tell the story of the explorers and theres plenty of seats and quiet areas to take in the well maintained and well designed garden areas. We especially liked the Japanese and Himalayan areas with the temple and dragon carvings"

Tork Mackenzie

"We visited in mid May which is a good time to go to the garden.
Many interesting plants - well cared for - with labels and plaques linking the plants to the explorers who brought them here.
A plan is available as a guide to the gatden. There are many seats if you need a rest. Portaloos available.
There are some steepish slopes which have steps. These areas I would not recommend for someone needing to use a walker or a wheelchair. There are no gravel paths for wheels to get mired in.
Followng our visit we enjoyed a lunch at the theatre closeby."
