"Fell in love with this garden back when I lived up here some yrs ago and now that I’ve managed to return (a bit older and less physically able) it was still a pleasure to visit the garden (with thankfully good wheelchair access). The person that I brought with me to show off this beauty was my husband who is/was an horticulturalist and someone that I knew would appreciate it in its entirety (and unlike me, is knowledgeable on the subject!), I’m in that unenviable place right now, that part of me wants to blabber to everyone about this beautiful place, its availability to all to visit and its beauty and charm, but the selfish part of me wants to keep my mouth shut as too many visitors would kill its charm."

"This is really a little bit of a hidden gem in Ellon (only recently opened to the public in 2019), only a very short walk from nearest busstopp with good connections from Aberdeen.
Gardens are fairly large and secluded behind a garden wall. The blossoming flowers gives the gardens a nice aroma and birdsong from the trees it's really nice.
Highly recommend a visit for a nice picnick or just to get away from the hustle.
At time of the visit there where not many around, so really enjoyed the piece and quiet.
The castle is now a ruin, though attractive where it overarches the gardens.
