What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Edinburgh's food tours for their knowledgeable and engaging guides who offer a fantastic introduction to local cuisine and culture. The variety of food and drink sampled, including traditional Scottish dishes and spirits, is a major highlight. While generally positive, some find certain tours can be a bit pricey.
"Our tour ended up being just us with our guide, which was very nice. We love to go on food tours when we arrive in a new city, and the tour of Edinburgh was fantastic. Tom was super knowledgeable. One in our party has a gluten allergy, and he and the restaurants were so accommodating and knowledgeable. We tasted Cullen skink, haggis, a lovely panacotta and different beers, cider and Scotch whisky."

"Fantastic Tour. Sara was phenomenal l. We went to so many recognizable Scottish places and some that were off the beaten path that we would’ve have found in our own. If you want to find real local Scottish food and drink, this is the one to book."

"I booked a food tour in Edinburgh with Eat Walk Food Tours. We had such a great experience, I highly recommend. Our guide, Tamara, was delightful. She was knowledgeable, informative, and very fun. I booked this tour for the day of my arrival, and it was a great way to fight off the jet lag, get a little bit of the lay of the land, and sample some delicious food and drinks. We stopped at 4 different spots where we sampled pork belly, a salted cod dish in tomatoes, and haggis with neeps and tatties (just try it, it's delicious). We finished with a sticky toffee pudding that was to die for! Each dish was paired with a spirit of some sort. We had a local cocktail, wine, scotch, and a glass of port at the end. I'm so glad we took this tour. I would have never tried Haggis otherwise, and I am happy to report that the majority of our group enjoyed it! Two spots on the stop that I especially liked, were the private Scotch club where we enjoyed our own room, and the last stop in the wine bar where we enjoyed our dessert in a cozy, underground nook. We could have stayed and enjoyed the atmosphere after the tour, but we were too tired to take advantage of that. I recommend taking a little time on at the end to have another drink there.
Thank you Eat/Walk Edinburgh and Tamara for the wonderful tour!"
